One of the most respected and adventurous of writers on the mystical traditions of Christianity, himself a Carmelite, Noel Dermot O'Donoghue has gathered together his definitive reflections on the three great mystical doctors of the Catholic Church: St Teresa of Avila (`Woman of Vision'), St John of the Cross (`Man of Fire') and St Therese of Lisieux (`Child of the Little Way'). These inter-related and inter-woven essays are the mature fruit of a lifetime, written in the richly poetic way that readers have come to associate with this modern master of Celtic Christianity.
