How do we understand our Muslim friends and neighbours and share the Gospel effectively with them? In this book the veil is lifted on Muslim culture, practices and faith to find the points of contact that will help Muslims to respond to the Christian Gospel. Breaking Through the Barriers also contains crucial information on the differences between Islam and Christianity, and how to answer various questions including: Is the Biblical God the same as Allah? Is the Muslim Jesus, Isa, the same as the Jesus we know in the Gospels? How do Muslims view heaven and hell? What part does the second coming of Jesus play in Muslim thinking?
Christians who want to reach Muslims for Christ need to have a basic understanding of Islam, and also of how to relate to our Muslim neighbours. Rosemary Sookhdeo has provided this accessible introduction to help us share our faith effectively with them. Part I provides practical guidance on Muslim culture and the attitudes and responses to it that should shape our outreach, while Part II explains what Muslims believe, and outlines various barriers that hinder Muslims from coming to Christ. An Appendix sets out the main differences between Islam and Christianity.
