Alan Nichols
The Rev Alan Nichols is the newly appointed Interim and part-time Director of the Centre for Applied Christian Ethics at Ridley College, Melbourne. He has had a long history of involvement in ethics. A journalist by original training, he was secretary of the General Synod Social Responsibilities Commission for a decade, chair of the Melbourne diocesan social questions committee, and has sat on many government committeeson public policy. He is Deputy Chair of the Board of Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, Melbourne, and is a member of the Ethics Panel of the Infertility Treatment Authority. Among his recent books are Life and Death Decisions (Acorn, 1997) and Media Ethics (Acorn,2003), the latter with Jane Hendtlass.
