DVD 1987-01-01
Filmed on location in Russia, Western Europe and the United States, this heartwarming story of persecution, perseverance and dangerous faith will entertain and challenge audiences of all ages.
At 17, Peter Smyslov performs a daring escape from the Soviet Union, leaving behind the religious persecution that imprisons his family. Eventually he makes his way to the U.S. and begins the amusing struggle of adapting to the lifestyle of his new American host family, the McBrides.
But things aren't as easy as he thought and Peter learns some tough new lessons about being a Christian in America. He experiences persecution instead of freedom at his new high school, and compromise instead of conviction from the Christians he meets.
But he perseveres in his faith and reaches out as a brother to the McBride's cynical 12 year old son, David. And when Peter becomes an overnight soccer success at high school, he discovers a new formula for popularity from his girlfriend! Now he must face a battle even more dangerous than the trials he experienced in Russia. . .Winner - Best Film of the Year (CDFA), Jean Halo Award, Houson Int.
