Imagine what the world would be like -if every child felt cherished by his family -if each child believed he was a crucial part of creating family happiness-and if-as the result of being cherished-each child treated others with kindness. It can seem like a dream. But in God's power it can come true. Even well-meaning Christian parents can complain about their children, hurting kids and stealing the joy of sharing life together. In Growing a Family Where People Really Like Each Other, Karen Dockrey encourages readers to reject the view that children are a nuisance sent to tear up possessions and distract from more important things in life. She offers ideas and skills to help families approach life as a team: -attaching problems positively -teaching kids strategies for handling the good and bad of life -sharing each other's joys -disciplining with consistency -creating memories and life's busyness. Karen Dockrey walks daily in the adventure of parenting. She and her family have faced such joy-stealers as pediatric cancer and profound hearing loss. She is the author of more than twenty-five books for families and teenagers.
Offers parents the principles and skills they need to learn to enjoy their kids, turning disasters into fun and making lasting memories with their kids.
