Elmer A. Martens, PhD, is professor emeritus of Old Testament and president emeritus at Mennonite Brethren Biblical Seminary (Fresno, California), where he has taught for over 30 years. He is the author of God's Design, A Focus on Old Testament Theology, and a commentary on Jeremiah (Herald Press). He was coeditor of The Flowering of Old Testament Theology and served for several years as the editor of the journal Direction. Larry L. Walker, PhD, held a professional teaching career with time split between Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and Mid-America Baptist Seminary. Since his retirement in 1998, he has done adjunct teaching at several seminaries. He authored a commentary on Zephaniah for the Expositor's Bible Commentary and is also a contributor to the New International Dictionary of Old Testament Theology and Exegesis.
Elmer A. Martens (Ph.D., Claremont Graduate School) is a past president of Mennonite Brethren Biblical Seminary and has taught at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, Illinois, Union Biblical Seminary in Pune, India, Evangelical Bible Seminary in Osaka, Japan, Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, California, Nairobi Evangelical Graduate School of Theology in Kenya, and Regent College in Vancouver. He was a member of the Translation teams for the New American Standard Bible, the New King James Version, the New Living Bible, and a translation consultant for the International Children's Bible. From 1966 to 1971 He was the Chairman of the Board of Christian Literature of the Mennonite Brethren. He was the author of Jeremiah (Believer's Church Bible Commentary Series), Jeremiah, Lamentations (Cornerstone Biblical Commentary) and co-editor of The Flowering of Old Testament Theology (Eisenbrauns).
