James A Beverley

Dr. James A. Beverley is Professor of Christian Thought and Ethics at Tyndale University, Toronto(PhD, University of St. Michael's College(Toronto). Dr. Beverley has taught at Tyndale since 1988. From 1978 until his move to Tyndale, he was a professor at Atlantic Baptist University in Moncton, New Brunswick. Among his seven books is Holy Laughter & The Toronto Blessing (Zondervan 1995), which was translated into French, Spanish and Indonesian. He is currently completing a major work on Christianity and other religions for Thomas Nelson and is co-editor of the forthcoming Encyclopedia of Religions in Canada to be published by HarperCollins Canada. Dr. Beverley is a freelance writer for The Toronto Star and a regular contributor to Faith Today and Christianity Today magazines. He has served as an expert witness in court cases in Manitoba and Ontario and has been quoted widely in the media across North America because of his expertise in new religions. Dr. Beverley presents frequently at the annual meetings of the Evangelical Theological Society and the American Academy of Religion
