As he expounds this wonderful psalm Dr. Martyn Lloyd Jones sees a great choir, drawn from the four corners of the earth, united in praising God. Using the Psalmist's vivid word-pictures he underlines the sheer grace of God who rescues sinners from the wilderness, frees them from prison, heals them from dreadful disease and saves them from a terrible storm. Throughout this superb exposition Dr. Martyn Lloyd-Jones show the profound difference between false and true religion. True Christianity always, and inevitably, leads to grateful and heart-felt praising of God 'for his goodness and for his wonderful works to the children of men.' Martyn Lloyd-Jones (1899-1981) was born in Wales. He was a dairyman's assistant, a political enthusiast, debater, and chief clinical assistant to Sir Thomas Harder, the King of England's Physician. But at the age of 27 he gave up a most promising medical career to become a preacher. He had a far-reaching influence ministry at Westminster Chapel in London, England from 1938-68. His published works have had an unprecedented circulation, selling in millions of copies.

PRODUCT DETAIL

Martyn Lloyd-jones

Born in Cardiff, Dr Martyn Lloyd-Jones (1899-1981) was a practicing physician until leaving medicine to become the minister of a Welsh Presbyterian Church.
Minister of Westminster Chapel and co-founder of both InterVarsity Fellowship and the Banner of Truth Trust, this brilliant Welshman was arguably the greatest evangelical preacher of the 20th century.

Best remembered for the power of his sermons in an age of spiritual decline and apathy, Dr Lloyd-Jones exercised his formidable intellect in the service of a thoroughly biblical faith, inspiring his contemporaries to think through the implications of their beliefs for both Church and world.

Dr Lloyd-Jones never tired of calling the Church to revival, to foundational doctrines and to a prayerful zeal for authentic apostolic experience. His rich legacy of recorded and published sermons continues to be used by God to transform lives today.
