-Publisher

The Puritans were convinced that the ability to think clearly was of the utmost importance whether a man was studying for the minsitry or any other of the sciences. In their minds, if a man could not think clearly, he could not interpret the Bible correctly. This work on logic and reason by Isaac Watts (known primarily for his genius as a writer of hymns, but unfortunately unknown for his skills as a theologian) was a standard textbook for nearly 200 years. In our day, common sense is not very common, and clear thinking is not very clear. This book will help discipline the mind and train the reader to discern proper thinking and argumentation in seeking truth.

Christians who seek a return to the clear-mindedness which characterized the church of previous generations will certainly welcome the return of this great text of logic by Isaac Watts.

PRODUCT DETAIL

Isaac Watts

Isaac Watts was pastor of a large Congregational church in London, and wrote prodigiously, although he is most known as being author of over 750 hymns, including "When I Survey the Wondrous Cross", "O God, Our Help in Ages Past", "I Sing the Mighty Power of God", "Alas, and Did My Savior Bleed", and "Joy to the World." Watts' rational mind combined with such artistic talent has made him one of God's greatest blessings to the people of God.
