It may come as a surprise that prolific author Tom (N T) Wright has any free time at all. Yet he is keenly aware of the need we all have to be refreshed by times of stillness in our lives. This delightful little illustrated inspirational gift book provides bite-sized meditations to help attune readers to the presence of God.
"It is part of being truly human that we should create for ourselves oases of stillness in which we can be refreshed." Quiet Moments contains inspiring one- and two-sentence meditations to help the reader to explore the world around them and the presence of God. Sensitively written and illustrated, this is a book to bring calm into busy lives. "If I don't keep still and shut up, I won't hear the music."
N.T.(Tom) Wright (D.Phil., Oxford) has recently retired as Bishop of Durham, and is one of the most influential theologians in the world today. During his long and dynamic ministry career, Wright has successfully blended the roles of pastor, preacher, academic, and popular author. His prolific written output reaches a wide range of readers: his books The New Testament and the People of God; Jesus and the Victory of God; and The Resurrection of the Son of God are monumental works of New Testament scholarship, while his For Everyone commentary series brings the Bible alive for a popular audience. Wright is currently Research Professor of New Testament and Early Christianity at the University of St Andrews in Scotland.
