In Race for the Record, Alastair and his missionary parents in the Philippines are faced with a difficult problem. The Palawano people to whom they are witnessing have no written language and thus no way to receive a copy of the Gospel since it can't be written down. Then Joy Ridderhof, a missionary who makes records of the Gospel message with a portable recording machine and donates records, agrees to come to their town. When problems-including a monsoon and malaria-waylay the recording, can Alastair and his friend Lastani find a way to make the recording before Joy has to leave?
