"'What must I do to be saved?' The Philippian jailer's question remains a fundamental human question, and Joel Green expands the usual Christian answers in stimulating and exciting ways. Green demonstrates that salvation is a holistic, communal event and process that extends to the cosmos; themes of healing and liberation are central to holistic salvation. Anyone interested in thinking in fresh and yet biblical ways about salvation must read this book." -Roger E. Olson, George W. Truett Theological Seminary "Scriptural, interdisciplinary, relevant, this book provides a valuable introduction to the nature of salvation. Yet it is more than a standard survey. Green is on a mission to save salvation itself from becoming a purely private affair by demonstrating that salvation-from Genesis to Revelation-is communal, even cosmic, in scope." -John R. Levison, Seattle Pacific University

For pastors, seminary students, Sunday school teachers, and serious lay Bible students, Green offers an engaging and thought-provoking discussion on various concepts of salvation, including what it means to be human and to be saved, God's intervention, sacrifice, healing and health, Jesus as an agent of salvation, incarnation and atonement, the Spirit of God, and death and the afterlife.
