The Shack - A Worldwide Phenomenon!

With an amazing 10 million copies now in print, The Shack has spent 67 consecutive weeks on the New York Times bestseller list, with more than 50 weeks at #1! It has also been on Publishers Weekly and USA Today bestseller lists for the same period of time, and demand continues to increase!

Mackenzie Allen Philips' youngest daughter, Missy, has been abducted during a family vacation, and evidence that she may have been brutally murdered is found in an abandoned shack deep in the Oregon wilderness. Four years later, in the midst of his Great Sadness, Mack receives a suspicious note, ostensibly from God, inviting him back to that shack for a weekend.

Against his better judgment, Mack arrives at the shack on a wintry afternoon and walks back into his darkest nightmare. What he finds there will change Mack's world forever and quite possibly your own.

In a world where religion seems to grow increasingly irrelevant The Shack wrestles with the timeless question, "Where is God in a world so filled with unspeakable pain?" The answers Mack gets will astound you and perhaps transform you as much as it did him. You'll want everyone you know to read this book!

Endorsements:

"When the imagination of a writer and the passion of a theologian cross-fertilize, the result is a novel in the order of The Shack. This book has the potential to do for our generation what John Bunyan's Pilgrim's Progress did for his. It's that good!"
- Eugene Peterson, Professor Emeritus Of Spiritual Theology,^Regent College, Vancouver, B.C.

"An exceptional piece of writing that ushers you directly into the heart and nature of God in the midst of agonizing human suffering. This amazing story will challenge you to consider the person and the plan of God in more expansive terms than you may have ever dreamed."
- David Gregory, author of Dinner with a Perfect Stranger

"If God is all powerful and full of love, why doesn't He do something about the pain and evil in our world? This book answers that age old question with startling creativity and staggering clarity. By far one of the best books I have ever read."
- James Ryle, Author Hippo in the Garden

"Wrapped in creative brilliance, The Shack is spiritually profound, theologically enlightening, and life impacting. It has my highest recommendation. We are joyfully giving copies away by the case."
- Steve Berger, Pastor, Grace Chapel

"Riveting, with twists that defy your expectations while teaching powerful theological lessons without patronizing. I was crying by page 100. You cannot read it without your heart becoming involved."
- Gayle E. Erwin, Author The Jesus Style

"Don't miss this! If there's a better book out there capturing God's engaging nature and his ability to crawl into our darkest nightmare with his love, light and healing, I've not seen it. For the most ardent believer or newest spiritual seeker, The Shack is a must-read."
- Wayne Jacobsen, author of So You Don't Want to Go to Church Anymore

William P Young

Paul was born a Canadian and along with three younger siblings was raised among a stone-age tribe by his missionary parents in the highlands of what was New Guinea (West Papua). The family returned to Canada where his father pastored a number of churches for various denominations. By the time he entered Canadian Bible College, Paul had attended a dozen schools. He completed his undergraduate degree in religion at Warner Pacific College in Portland, Oregon. While in Oregon, Paul attended seminary and worked on staff at a large church where he met and married Kim. Together they celebrate the wastefulness of grace with their six children, two daughters-in-law, and now two grandchildren. His worldwide phenomenon, The Shack, was written for his six children, with no thought or intention to publish. He says "It is as much a surprise to me as to anyone else that I am now an author. And a best-selling author at that!
