R A Torrey's teaching on the person of the Holy Spirit brought thousands of sinners to Christ, and spiritual power to thousands of saints all over the world. In addition to that teaching, this book also contains seven of his shorter works that were taught around the world, at the Moody Bible Institute, and at the churches he pastored, including; The Deity of Jesus Christ, The Power of the Blood, The Power of the Holy Spirit, The Place of Prayer in Evangelism, and Keep Praying Until God Answers.
R. A. Torrey's books have probably helped more people understand the Bible and have led more souls to Christ than the writings of anyone since the Apostle Paul. Not only was Torrey a great Bible teacher and preacher, he was also filled with the Holy Spirit. He lived what he preached. In his worldwide revival crusades, Torrey presented three main teachings: on Christ, on prayer, and on the person of the Holy Spirit. This book focuses on the latter teaching: The Holy Spirit: Who He Is and What He Does.
R. A. Torrey (1856 - 1928) was an American evangelist and Bible scholar. A graduate of Yale College and Seminary, he also studied in German universities. He was ordained to the Congregational ministry in 1878, and became superintendent of the Congregational City Missionary Society of Minneapolis. He had a long association with D. L. Moody and was the first superintendent of the Moody Bible Institute (1889 - 1908). He wrote numerous devotional and theological books, including What the Bible Teaches, How to Work for Christ, and The Person and Work of the Holy Spirit.
