Here, Professor Gunton argues that the theology of the Trinity has profound implications for all dimensions of human life. Our understanding of personhood, relationship, otherness, communion, for example, can be developed significantly if we think of God in a Trinitarian way. This in turn, he argues, can illuminate our understanding of the Creation, the ideas of freedom, the nature of the human being. In this new edition, Professor Gunton reviews the latest important works in this area in an extended preface and offers new chapters on the Church and contemporary culture and atonement."...this book is dense, clear, enlightening, brilliant..".
