Tom Wright for Everyone addresses the reticence of many evangelicals to engage with what Tom Wright has been saying for some time. The book looks at key theological questions awaiting an answer and gives an enlightening summary of the theology of Tom Wright, arranged around terms like 'Covenant', 'Heaven', 'Kingdom', 'The resurrection of Jesus', and 'justification'. Then, in perhaps the most valuable part of the book, Stephen Kuhrt describes in detail the difference putting Tom Wright's theology into practice has made in his own parish church, pastorally and in terms of mission. The book ends with a clear statement of Tom Wright's challenge to the Church in the second decade of the twenty-first century.
Stephen Kuhrt has been Vicar of Christ Church, New Walden since April 2007. Before that he was curate of Christ Church. Stephen is a member of the leadership team of Fulcrum, a group committed to working towards the renewal of the Evangelical Centre of the Church of England.
He is the author of Church Growth through the Full Welcome of Children: The Sssh Free Church which tells the story of the development of the 9.30 service at Christ Church.
More recently he has written Tom Wright for Everyone: Putting the Theology of N.T Wright into practice in the local church which also includes a great deal about Christ Church and the theological basis for much of the churchfds ministry and mission.
Stephen enjoys watching and occasionally playing cricket, watching films of the 30fds and 40fds, reading about history and anything to do with Robin Hood. Married to Katie, who also leads Explorers at Christ Church, they have three children fd Rebecca, James and Abigail.
