After living on the streets between the ages of twelve and sixteen, Recinos met a Presbyterian minister who had discovered the God of the oppressed while active in civil rights marches in the 60s. Harold J. Recinos is Professor of Church and Society at Perkins School of Theology, Southern Methodist University, in Dallas, Texas. He is the author of a number of books including "Hear the Cry! A Latino Pastor Challenges the Church".
