Petra
Christian rock group Petra is regarded as a pioneer of the Christian rock and contemporary Christian music genres. Formed in 1972, the band took its name from the Greek word for "rock". Since their formation Petra has experienced numerous line-up changes and released more than 20 studio albums including Washes Whiter Than, Never Say Die, Back to the Street and No Doubt. They formally disbanded in 2006 but reformed in 2013 with a new drummer.]

Lots of Great Tracks

This is a great introduction to Petra, who have early material on the first disc that sounds a lot like the band Kansas and the second disc sounds a bit more like a Bon Jovi or a Guns N Roses for Jesus. Different lead singers too. It's a great example of Christian rock that is innovative while still sitting in amongst the world as salt that preserves. There are challenges and heart provokers in the lyrics, which is good for correction on the journey to Jesus. It's good to find Christian music like that. The booklet has pictures of all the Petra album art and where the songs came from and kind of folds out rather than being a stapled booklet. Thanks Petra, thanks Koorong.
