perfect
5 stars By Marija, Mar 03 2018
Reading this novel has reminded me just how much I love, love, love Sarah Sundin's books. From the very start, she conjures up the world of 1940s wartime, from the fashion, music and movies to the strength and resilience of the characters. And her characters are so delightfully real: despite (or maybe because of) their flaws and weaknesses, you just can help wishing you could enter their world and be part of their merry camaraderie. If you haven't yet read a novel by Sarah Sundin, you need to do it now!

Loved It

What a beautiful story of courage, honesty and falling in love with the person, not just the facade. Love, love, loved it!

Excellent Novel
5 stars By Aimee , Sep 03 2014
I first started reading this novel about a year ago, and since then I believe I've re-read it 2 more times! The story line had me on the edge of my seat and the characters were extremely likeable. As the romance between Walt and Allie escalated so did my need to finish the book, the complications that came along with the love story created nail biting tension and the ending couldn't have been more perfect!

Good, although it took a bit long to resolve
3 stars By Lynne Stringer, Mar 10 2014
I was tempted to give this book four stars for most of it, but I found the ending tried my patience. It looked continually as if the plot was going to be resolved, but it was delayed again and again, presumably to build suspense. While that can be effective when coupled with plot and character developments, in this case it seemed to be for no better reason than to draw out the ending. This left me frustrated, especially since I felt the conclusion was inevitable by then.
