A Dream to Call My Own (#03 in Brides Of Gallatin County Series)

Lacy Gallatin, the youngest of the Gallatin sisters, is a woman with a mission: to find her father's killer. Haunted by the belief that she's failed him, Lacy is also battling a desire to have something more than just revenge, something she can't quite figure out.

Enter Dave Shepard, deputy sheriff for the area. Dave has been fervently trying to find the man who killed George Gallatin, but he always feels inadequate when it comes to the beautiful Lacy. When they are together, the tension crackles between them--both when they argue and when they kiss. Lacy finds him frustratingly irresistible...but is it truly love?

Write Your Own Review
enjoyable reading
4 stars By Marija, May 07 2017
This book reminded me just why I love Tracie Peterson's novels - they are an easy, relaxing read with characters that you cannot help loving, and settings that just seem to come alive through Peterson's descriptions. I made the mistake of reading this third book in the series before reading any of the others: normally this is not a problem with Tracie Peterson's books, but this time I had to spend a bit of time trying to work out the different characters and their relationships with each other. Lacy is an engaging heroine, and I was quickly drawn into to her story as she battles her personal fears and insecurities despite her external strength and confidence. If you enjoyed Tracie Peterson's other novels, then you'll definitely like this one.

An Enjoyable Conclusion to Series
4 stars By sarah, Jan 01 2015
In this third and final installment of the Brides of Gallatin County, Lacy is the only sister yet to have found her happy ever after. Dave, a good friend of the family and local law official has been in love with Lacy for a long time. However, Lacy is not sure of her feelings towards him, and is struggling with the mystery surrounding her father's murder. Books one and two recount the incident leading towards his death. However, this is a standalone book for those who wish to read only this story. I found the Narrator Aimee Lilly did an admirable job of bringing each character to life and I thoroughly enjoyed this final installment in the series. For fans of mystery and romance in an historical setting, this is a fine piece of escapism in audiobook format!
