About "A Heart Most Worthy"
The elegance of Madame Forza's gown shop is a far cry from the downtrodden North End of Boston. Yet each day Julietta, Annamaria, and Luciana enter the world of the upper class, working on finery for the elite in society. The three beauties each long to break free of their obligations and embrace the American dream--and their chance for love. But the ways of the heart are difficult to discern at times. Julietta is drawn to the swarthy, mysterious Angelo. Annamaria has a star-crossed encounter with the grocer's son, a man from the entirely wrong family. And through no intent of her own, Luciana catches the eye of Billy Quinn, the son of Madame Forza's most important client. Their destinies intertwined, each harboring a secret from their families and each other, will they be found worthy of the love they seek?

This story centres around three young immigrants and their families in the land of America in 1918. Each of the girls lead very different lives and have different backgrounds. However, despite their differences their lives become entwined as they work together in a dressmakers shop. The American revolution is an interesting backdrop for the stories of the three women. The author assumes a narrative alongside the characters stories. This assists the reader to gain additional insight into their thoughts and motives for actions, helping mould their individual stories into one larger perspective. I enjoyed the humorous antics of the warring Italian families which helped keep a light-hearted feel despite the seriousness of the time in which the novel was set. Siri Mitchell is a gifted author, and I look forward to her next novel.
I really enjoyed this story. It had some very interesting information about the Italian immigrants in Boston during WW1. The story held your interest and it was a very good read. I got this on special but is worth the listed price now. If you want to learn history while enjoying a good story this is a book for you
