Customer Reviews For "A Manual Lexicon of New Testament"

Write Your Own Review
Very serviceable
4 stars By Ian Thomason, Apr 17 2007
Abbott-Smith's, "Manual Greek Lexicon of the New Testament" has long been proven to be a 'user-friendly' and very serviceable dictionary to the Greek NT.

The market leader for this sort of reference published in English is clearly (and rightly) BDAG. Abbott-Smith is by no means as exhaustive in its coverage as the former, but neither is it anywhere near as expensive--a key consideration for theological students and those of modest means.

It has been my experience that different Greek lexica have different strengths and applications, dependant principally on a user's grasp of the language. Consequently, I commend Abbott-Smith's "Manual Greek Lexicon of the New Testament" as a useful and reliable guide to NT Greek lexiocology, principally for theological students and Greek-capable pastors.
