loved this book!
5 stars By Marija, Dec 06 2016
I absolutely loved this book. From the very first chapter I was engrossed in the lives of the characters, and could hardly put the book down!
Unlike other books I have read by Karen Kingsbury, 'A Thousand Tomorrows' is not explicitly a 'Christian' book. Don't get me wrong - there are very strong themes on forgiveness, true love and life after death, and the characters do indirectly talk about prayer and faith, but it is done a lot more subtly that other Kingsbury books (e.g. the Bailey Flannigan series). For this reason, this book would make a good choice if you were look for a 'good' book to give to a non-Christian, without scaring them off by something they might find 'too preachy'.
A Thousand Tomorrows is the first book in a series, but can be read as a standalone book. If you enjoyed books such as Nicholas Sparks' 'A Walk to Remember', then you will like this one.
Just one last comment - I purchased the 'mass market' edition, and while it was fine, the text is quite small and close together. I'd recommend getting one of the other editions.

a quick read
3 stars By Lisa, Feb 07 2014
I read a review that said Karen Kingsbury is the queen of Christian fiction which spurred me into buying a pile of her novels. This one was particularly different from the others that I read. It didn't have bible texts throughout it nor did it have the recurring themes which tend to make Kingsbury novels rather "samish'. The character development was good but as far as literature goes I found it a bit weak. I wouldn't lend it to a friend saying that it was worth reading.
