The massive diversity and complexity of the Bible can make it a daunting project for anyone to tackle. Getting a grasp of the unity of the Bible, its central message from Genesis to Revelation, helps immensely in understanding the meaning of any one book or passage. That is the goal of this book by Graeme Goldsworthy.

- How do the Old and New Testaments fit together?

- What is the point of biblical theology?

- What is the overall story of the Bible?

- What difference does it make?

Goldsworthy answers these questions with an integrated theology of both Old and New Testaments that avoids unnecessary technicalities. Thorough introduction to the story of the Bible
5 stars By Hoa, Mar 01 2017
Goldsworthy traces out the overarching storyline and structure of the Bible. He begins with chapters on foundational beliefs and methodology, and finishes with two examples of how this applies to Christian life. This book is suitable for beginners but requires careful reading.

A Helpful Introductory Book on What Is Biblical Theology
5 stars By Dr Bernard Low, Jul 12 2016
For the Christian who wants to read and study his Bible more intelligently, one book that he cannot go without is Goldsworthy's According to Plan. This book is divided into four parts. Part I deals with why we need Biblical Theology. Part II teaches us how to do Biblical Theology which involves reading the Scriptures Christologically. Part III then traces how Biblical Theology unfolds and develops through the grand narrative of creation, fall, redemption and the new creation. In the light of this grand narrative, Part IV helps us to understand what is God's will for us and how all this affects our eternal destiny. Goldsworthy is a master-teacher who will help the reader understand how the different books and narratives of the Bible fit together. Highly recommended!

An excellent and powerful read
5 stars By C Y, Jun 14 2014
Are you planning to read through the whole Bible? This book would be great to read at the same time, as it shows how all the Bible is connected by God's plan to rescue the world through Jesus' death and resurrection. It shows how the many different stories, histories and wisdom from the Old Testament, and all the stories of the early church in the New Testament, revolve around one whole story in the work of Christ. A highly recommended read.

Eye Opening Reading
5 stars By Sandra, Aug 09 2013
Many years ago, this book was my introduction to the idea that the Bible is an unfolding revelation of God. It was life changing, and has remained foundational to my Bible study and understanding ever since.
