Lynn Austin has written a marvellous tale that highlights the fact that we often don't know the history of our family and forebears. Communication is essential and so often in the bid to protect both ourselves and our family we keep secrets. As some of these past secrets are revealed, healing, forgiveness and understanding can occur. I love the fact that it is a wonderful gripping story whilst having a deeper principle from which we can all learn.

Along the same lines as her other titles, Lynn Austin tells a wonderful story that spans over 3 generations. I absolutely loved it and couldn't put it down. If you like Francine Rivers, you will LOVE Lynn Austin.

If you are following the work of Lynn Austin you will probably agree that each of her books is so very different from the others. Unlike most of what I've read from her, this novel is set in modern day America. The reader is taken back a couple generations as well. I sometimes found it frustrating when you get to know a character to be thrown into a story of her mother or grandmother, but overall it was an enjoyable story that tied together nicely. Not my favorite Austin novel though.
