Great Novels
5 stars By Love Books, Nov 07 2014
Hi!
This collection is my favourite in the series!

Book 1 "Maureen the Detective": Maureen, an immigrant from Ireland, is 11 years old lives in Minneapolis during 1903. In this book Maureen helps an old lady who has bean hurt by her husbands passing. This book is great because it is so exciting.

Book 2 "Maria Takes a Stand" :Maria is 12 and she lives in the time of 1914 when women where fighting for the right to vote. She gets a job that normally boys do! I like this book because it was a changing time in history that has helped shape modern day living!

Book 3 "Carrie's Courage ": Carrie is 10 years old she lives in the time of 1923. She is friends with a Jewish girl who is at risk of being harmed by the Ku Klux Klan. I like this book because it is about having the courage to do what is right.

Book 4 " Anna's Fight for Hope" : Anna is 12 in the time of 1931 which is also during the Great Depresion. Anna helps friends and neighbors. I like this book because she helps her friends who are not as fortunate as her.

Reading this series is fun, you learn a lot and they are good stories about girls overcoming hardships. I was 1112 when I read them and recommend girls aged 10-13 to read them. They are an easy read for complex vocab there is a glossary.
