Apologetics For a New Generation

Apologetics For a New Generation

Sean Mcdowell

$16.99

Paperback
Many teenagers leave home for college but don't take their faith with them. Popular writer and speaker Sean McDowell offers a solution for this problem: a new way of approaching faith that addresses the questions the emerging generation is asking and that incorporates a radically humble and relational approach.

An impressive list of contributors including Dan Kimball (They Like Jesus but Not the Church), Brian Godawa (Hollywood Worldviews), and Josh McDowell show that today's apologetics must employ
- a clear connection with everyday life
- an invitation for people to express their doubts and wrestle with tough questions
- a culturally savvy understanding of the way secular people view Christians
- an engaging methodology that captures the imagination before engaging the mind
- a strong emphasis on the resurrection and how it changes everything

This resource is imperative for leaders who are ready to engage a new generation with the claims of Christ.

A great book on apologetic leadership
4 stars By Ben Derecki, Feb 19 2010
I guess the first thing is that when you're searching through the Koorong catalogue and you see Sean McDowell's name on this book note the text following his name 'general editor'. Having enjoyed Josh McDowell's slightly cheesy but relatively robust literature I was enticed to buy this book without a second thought after seeing Sean's name on it. Unfortunately he has relatively little input into this book which actually consists of a number of different authors writing on different apologetic topics. Having said all this I did really enjoy the book. The different authors bring different approaches and thoughts to the general topic of apologetics and how it can be brought more effectively into church, family and our personal lives. If you're looking for a book that answers apologetic-based questions then this book isn't really for you. If you're looking for something that forces you to consider the range and variety of ways we can be more active in expressing our faith and the Bible's hope, then this book is for you. Four stars.
