This retelling of the biblical story of Gomer and Hosea, set during the time of the California Gold Rush, is now considered by many to be a classic work of Christian fiction. The popularity of Redeeming Love continues unabated over a quarter of a century after its publication.

Since Redeeming Love, Francine has published numerous novels with Christian themes - all best sellers. The Last Sin Eater, earned her the CBA Gold Medal award and has since been made into a feature film - She has continued to win both industry acclaim and reader loyalty around the globe. He Was Lost But then He Found!
5 stars By Olivia, Oct 04 2017
Wow another excellent book which is the final book of the mark of the loin series! Recommended that you read the 1st 2 books before this one so you know the background of Atretes and what he went through to gain his freedom as this book continues on from the 1st book. There are times in this book I wanted to give Atretes a good shaking but this book is a good example of Gods patience for us he is so patient waiting for us to come to him and so merciful its amazing. I loved reading about Rizpah a women of God at times resembles us, weak and we fall at times with our faith and she was still learning but if we trust in God everything comes together. I liked reading the growing love between Rizpah and Atretes. Theophilus was a strong character I liked to read about him too a faithful man of God. Another hard to put down book and I would read this book again someday too.

A must read series
5 stars By Destiny, Oct 04 2016
The last book in series doesn't disappoint. Francine does a wonderful job of finishing up all the intertwining stories that have started in the past two books. I highly recommend that you read this series in order as the books won't be as exciting or captivating...and you'll probably end up really confused I have read a lot of books and series over the years and so far this is the BEST series that I have ever read. My faith was stirred and my eyes opened to the reality that a living faith may cost a Christian their life.

Could hardly put this book down
5 stars By Charlotte, Mar 15 2016
As Sure as the Dawn is third in a trilogy by Francine Rivers. It takes us back to the era before the New Testament was compiled and when the Apostle John was still alive, when believers in Jesus Christ treasured every scrap of manuscript of the letters written by the men who walked with Him, and who burned with passion to share the Gospel of Grace to the pagan world around them.

This romance is a book for women and men alike. Artretes, the German gladiator, personifies all that is pagan and human. He is locked into relationships with Christians for his own survival. This book challenges the reader to think about how he or she would deal with the existential threats they all faced as Christians and as refugees under constant threat from the Roman government. They also had physical deprivation to endure, and dangers from hostile German tribes testing their faith as well as their faithfulness to the portions of God's Word that they have been given.

I found this to be one of the most powerful of all the books I have read by this author.

Best Read Ever!
5 stars By Esta- Mt Lawley, Jul 18 2009
Set approximately 30-40 years after the death and resurrection of the Christ, this three book series tells of the lives of three young people who struggle to accept the new faith of Christianity, especially in a time when the early new Chrsitians are faced with persecution and death. It is an encouragement for christians today who struggle with sharing their faith and the good news. The events of the period are evidently well researched and the stories well told, making them the most enjoyable of Francine Rivers' works that I have come across so far.
