Paperback

"In this sequel to her first book, Australian Women of Grace, Robyn Hipkiss has again unearthed dramatic and moving tales of ordinary women doing extraordinary things. Robyn allows the writers to speak for themselves, reflecting their diverse characters in their diverse styles. But one common factor prevails throughout - the quality of courage, not just of the women concerned, but in many cases of their families, too. Add to this a large dose of faith in a loving and caring God, and you have the key, not just to the survival of the women whose stories are told here, but to their ability to prevail in the face of extreme adversity with courage, confidence and conviction."

Meet the Author

Robyn Hipkiss

In 2006 and 2009 Robyn Hipkiss fulfilled a lifelong dream to tell the stories of some of the many inspiring women who had touched her heart and life over the years when she self-published two books, firstly Australian Women of Grace and then Australian Women of Courage. Her own story is included in her first book.

Robyn's third book, Inspiring Stories of Life and Faith, is part of the Inspiring Stories Series published by Ark House Press. In this book Robyn has once again gathered a collection of remarkable present-day stories of men and women from all walks of life who have discovered the power of God to motivate and inspire their lives, and who have triumphed over tragic circumstances. In recording such stories Robyn is motivated by her strong belief that the example of these men and women will inspire and encourage others to also overcome their life challenges.

Fascinating Stories - an inspiring book
5 stars By Eric and Patricia Frith, Feb 08 2010
In Australian Women of Courage we have read with interest about the lives of five ordinary women who, in their life's journey, have overcome difficulties and achieved good things. Each woman's story is unique and written in a way that is respectful, sensitive and honouring, not only to that woman, but also to God.

Australian Women of Courage is inspirational reading and an excellent companion to the Robyn's first book, Australian Women of Grace. Having interviewed each person, and sought their concurrence in the editing process, the author writes about them as if they are telling their own story. There is an obvious attention to detail in seeking to faithfully capture each personality in the written account.

From a male point of view, anyone interested in biography would find Australian Women of Courage fascinating reading. The book reveals how the embracing of faith in the Creator God gives ordinary people the ability to triumph over difficulties and rise above their circumstances to be a blessing to those around them. It provides a wholesome alternative to the 'me' culture which is becoming more pervasive in contemporary 'Western' nations. Interest is added by the selection of people from a variety of backgrounds and of varying ages. All have overcome challenges in their life and their stories can inspire and bring hope and purpose to readers. It is a most interesting and edifying book.
