Meet the Authors

Daniel Hays

J. Daniel Hays (ThM, Dallas Theological Seminary; Ph.D., Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary) is dean of the Pruet School of Christian Studies and professor of Old Testament at Ouachita Baptist University. He is the author of From Every People and Nation, and he has co-authored Grasping God's Word; Preaching God's Word; Journey into Gods Word; The Story of Israel: A Biblical Theology; Iraq: Babylon of the End Times?; Apocalypse and The Dictionary of Biblical Prophecy. He teaches adult Sunday school at his local church in Arkadelphia, Arkansas, and preaches frequently throughout the nation.

Scott Duvall (Ph.D., Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary) is dean of the Pruet School of Christian Studies and professor of New Testament at Ouachita Baptist University. He is the co-author with George H. Guthrie of Biblical Greek Exegesis: A Graded Approach to Learning Intermediate and Advanced Greek and with Terry G.Carter and J. Daniel Hays of the textbook Preaching God's Word: A Hands on Approach to Preparing, Developing and Delivering the Sermon and also Grasping God's Word; Dictionary of Biblical Prophecy and End Times and Journey into God's Word.. His most recent pubication is Experiencing God's Story of Life and Hope.

The Baker illustrated bible handbook is a very comprehensive book. It goes through all the books of the bible giving extra information. This book is well presented, it is in colour and has lots of pictures. I find it a good and useful reference when I need more information about a particular section of the bible. This book is very big and heavy.

This book is very helpful in understanding the events of the Bible more, and is a useful reference when reading the Scriptures. The colourful illustrations help to liven up your understanding. It has many great references to other related passages to keep your interest going.

This has been a great encyclopaedia of sorts when reading the Bible and wanting some extra information about the time and places that the events took place in. It's a great help to really add that extra visualisation and understanding to what the Bible says
