Essential Reading for Fathers
5 stars By Julz, Jan 07 2015
In this little book, John Macarthur expounds the biblical principles on parenting from two scriptures, Ephesians 6:4: "Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord." and Deuteronomy 6:7: "You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise.", Not only exegesis on those two scriptures, he gives practical examples on some of the ways that we can provoke our children to anger, e.g. showing favoritism, having unrealistic expectations on our children, etc, which I find is very helpful. As with his other books, the book was written in a very simple and easy to understand language. As a first time fathers, I found this book very helpful, and would like to recommend to other dads to help them in the calling of spiritual leadership at home.
