About "Boundaries in Marriage (Unabridged, 9 Cds)"
:Learn when to say yes and when to say no?to your spouse and to others?to make the most of your marriage Only when a husband and wife know and respect each other's needs, choices, and freedom can they give themselves freely and lovingly to one another. Boundaries are the "property lines" that define and protect husbands and wives as individuals. Once they are in place, a good marriage can become better, and a less-than-satisfying one can even be saved. Drs. Henry Cloud and John Townsend, counselors and authors of the award-winning bestseller Boundaries, show couples how to apply the 10 laws of boundaries that can make a real difference in relationships. They help husbands and wives understand the friction points or serious hurts and betrayals in their marriage?and move beyond them to the mutual care, respect, affirmation, and intimacy they both long for. Boundaries in Marriage helps couples: * Set and maintain personal boundaries and respect those of their spouse * Establish values that form a godly structure and architecture for their marriage * Protect their marriage from different kinds of "intruders" * Work with a spouse who understands and values boundaries?or work with one who doesn't

Someone handed me this book right after my divorce to a horrendously abusive man. I looked at the book with disgust as I never wanted to be in a relationship ever again and feared putting someone in such an incredible position trust to violate that trust so badly. I started reading it one day only because my friend insisted I give it a go. Wow, many pages and a lot of tears later I had discovered what Gods intention for marriage was, how my ex husband never and how my first marriage was not aligned with God's plan. By the end of the book I had renewed hope that there was a Godly marriage out there somewhere, someday. this was about 7-8 years ago. (I am currently in a beautiful Godly marriage)
This book is a must-read for couples who want to have a healthy relationship. Boundaries are crucial for healthy emotionality and this book really drives it home. I'd also recommend "Changes that Heal" by the same authors as a prior read because it lays the foundation for individual wholeness--I read that first because my best friend insisted that I needed to.
I've only read the first few chapters of this book so far but already I've found it to be so helpful to my marriage. I know I'll have to read it more than once to take in all it has to offer. The authors offer not just advice but real life examples and really practical ways in which to improve every marriage by setting boundaries and respecting both your spouse and yourself. It was highly recommended to me and I will definitely be passing that recommendation on to any of my other married friends.
This book has taught me boundaries in the area of marriage. It helped me applying boundaries into my marriage which led to better understanding between each other, better communication and better ability to ask for help when I need it. It helped me becoming a healthier person therefore having a healthier marriage. I would recommend this book to every couple and to anyone interested into getting ready for marriage.
