Can You Hear Me?

Brad Jersak

$13.99

Paperback

A collage of biblical and historical research, experiential illustrations, and inspiring exercises on "listening prayer."

Written for a popular audience, this book will activate the readers' faith in God's willingness to transform their prayer lives into an intimate conversation - a real meeting with a living Friend. This book replicates the fruit of the author's LISTENING PRAYER seminars. Through reading this book, readers will become aware that hearing God is far more simple, accessible, frequent, and interactive than they ever dreamed.

Part I presents a Scriptural foundation on how God speaks and practical exercises on how we see, hear and sense His voice. It also answers questions about testing wheat we hear and the role of the imagination in this process.

Part II draws from the biblical and contemplative traditions to explore the heart as an inner "meeting place" where we can commune with God. The Meeting Place is presented as a model for prayer whereby one experiences an ongoing, interactive vision of the living Christ. This section includes a manual on "inner healing" through listening prayer and a template for overcoming blacks that prevent us from hearing. In part III, the book applies Listening Prayer to praying with children, decision-making, church-life and outreach. The material is designed to be easily and immediately taught as a lesson series for home-groups, Sunday school classes, and ministry teams.

The author discovered a gap between what he found in the 'Bible' and in his own experience. As he wrestled with how to hear God clearly, he discovered how to listen more deeply - and where the blocks lay that halted his spiritual growth. He aims to help readers learn listening to prayer through his testimonies.
