Lawyer Forbes Guidry is used to making things go his way. But when he’s asked to take on a pro bono case for a colleague, he’ll learn that he can’t control everything—including his feelings for his new client: Alaine Delacroix.

Alaine’s only option to help her family is hiring Forbes, but can she bring herself to trust the handsome, disarmingly charming lawyer? And will Forbes Guidry be able to make a case for love before losing his job and family? Can both trust that God will present a solution before all is lost?

TV society reporter Alaine Delacroix feels like David facing Goliath when she takes on the biggest corporation in town to keep them from putting her parents’ garden center out of business. Lawyer Forbes Guidry wants nothing more than to stand up for the endangered local-business owners—but it will mean risking his job and crossing his powerful parents. Sweet Romance
3 stars By Hannah, Jan 08 2018
This book was sweet, if a familiar story. Boy likes girl, girl likes boy, girl finds out boy's rich family are buying out the not-so-well-to-do family businesses to make high rises. It was sweet though and had a more satisfying ending than I was expecting. Nice to catch up with this family again and hang out with them for a bit around their food-laden table!

Nice end to the series
5 stars By Margot, Jul 30 2016
The final book in Kaye Dacus's The Brides of Bonneterre series, this is a very enjoyable story. Having read the series in order, which worked well in this case, I was familiar with most of the characters and it was well worth the read to see how things pan out, especially for the older brother of the Guidry clan, Forbes. I particularly enjoyed the law and business elements. The story is believable, the romance sweet and the growing of the character's faith both realistic and inspirational. I recommend this book to all lovers of the Christian romance genre.

entertaining
4 stars By sarah, Mar 18 2014
Kaye dacus manages to blend humor and romance through this sweetly entertaining story about two people who couldn't be more different, yet surprisingly perfect for one another.
I enjoyed this right from the start, appreciating how the story flowed seamlessly through the characters lives and wove together the importance of family, and staying true to your faith in God, no matter what the outcome may be. I managed to read it in just two sittings, highly recommended for fans of chick lit.
