I&'m too busy. We&'ve all heard it, we&'ve all said it. Sometimes being busy seems like the theme of our lives. Yet this frenetic pace poses a serious threat to our physical, social, and even spiritual well-being. In this mercifully short book about a really big problem, best-selling author Kevin DeYoung rejects the &"busyness as usual&" mindset, arguing that a life of constant chaos is far from what God intends. DeYoung helps us figure out a better way forward as he strikes a mature and well-reasoned balance between doing nothing and doing everything. With his usual warmth, humor, and honesty, DeYoung deftly attacks the widespread &"crazy busy&" epidemic and offers up the restful cure we&'ve all been too busy to find.

Must read
5 stars By Aaron, Oct 04 2017
This is another fantastic book by Deyoung that is biblically based and richly applicable. He looks at busyness and shows why it is a spiritual problem. Most of the book is a series of diagnoses for our busyness and Deyoung ends on some practical advice.

A great read for any christian.

A Must-Read Book for Every Christian
5 stars By Dr. Bernard Low, Aug 14 2017
Kevin DeYoung has written a book that should be made compulsory reading for every Christian. Addressing the issue of busyness, DeYoung highlights three dangers of busyness: it can ruin our joy, rob our hearts and cover up the rot in our souls. He also provides seven diagnoses why we are or need to be busy and suggest some solutions or perspectives. The book concludes with a poignant challenge: we won't say no to more busyness unless we say yes to having more of Jesus. This small book is sure to challenge us to make significant changes in our lives. Highly recommended!

Helpful direction in combatting the busyness of life
5 stars By Kristian, May 09 2017
In my assessment of what goes into a typical day, one thing stands out clearly...my devotion to Jesus is more often than not an afterthought.

With an appropriate dose of humour, plenty of real life examples, and drawing on solid Biblical foundation, DeYoung urges us to see that in the midst of work, family, deadlines and the like, "sitting at the feet of Jesus is the one thing that is necessary".

Short chapters make this an ideal book for group study as well as personal reflection.

Solutions that go to the heart
5 stars By Hoa, Apr 03 2017
The brevity of this book makes it highly readable, but it is full of good content. Instead of giving quick fixes, DeYoung looks at the sinful heart reasons behind busyness and offers solutions towards the way forward, woven with personal experience in-between. A short and edifying read.

4 stars By Tikvah08, Dec 31 2015
Less a 'to do' book and more a 'let's think about this for a moment', this title alone has pushed me actual change more than any other. I highly recommend everything this author writes - introspective, counter-cultural, delving deep to the heart of the issue as opposed to mere changes in the outward. Some parts are heartbreaking, especially the candid statements that reveal and inward brokenness rather than a true purposeful, life-giving 'busy'.
