:A.W. Tozer's Follow-up to
The Knowledge of the Holy

We were created in the image of God, and to understand who we are, we need to understand who God is. His very character and nature are reflected through us. Unless we fully grasp who we are, we'll never become all God wants us to be.

Delighting in God is the message Tozer intended to be the follow-up to The Knowledge of the Holy. He demonstrates how the attributes of God--those things God has revealed about himself--are a way to understand the Christian life of worship and service. We are here to serve and adore him, but we can only fulfill that role by acknowledging who he is, which is the essence of the Christian life and the source of all our fulfillment, joy, and comfort.

A W Tozer

A. W. Tozer died in 1963, but his life and spiritual legacy continue to draw many into a deeper knowledge of God. During his lifetime, Tozer pastored several Christian and Missionary Alliance churches. Missions and the deeper life in Christ were his primary focus. He also served as editor of the Alliance Life. Tozer authored more than 40 books, (at least two of which are considered classics: The Pursuit of God and Knowledge of the Holy), a tremendous accomplishment for a man who never received a formal theological education. The presence of God was his classroom, his notebooks and tools consisted of prayer, God's Word, and the writings of early Christians and theologians, the Puritans, and great men of faith. - Publisher.

I am not sure if everyone understands how much our perception of God influences EVERYTHING in our lives! AW Tozer pulls no punches and gets straight to the point in explaining how a correct perception of God is imperative if we are to head towards fulfilling God's plan for our lives. If you have a passion to know God and draw near to Him this book will certainly help you on your journey. What I particularly liked is how Tozer explains that it is not by intellectual reasoning that we get to know God or attempt to understand Him, but through personal time in His presence awaiting the revelation of the Holy Spirit. He explains how that we need to move beyond reason and logic (for God who is infinite cannot be worked out by a finite mind) into, as he puts it, the Cloud of Unknowing where we wait silently for the Spirit of wisdom and revelation to open the eyes of our understanding and reveal Christ to us. It's as the Holy Spirit shines light upon the Word that we can get a clearer glimpse of who God is, and in turn of who we really are (as He sees us) and our place in His eternal plan. This book is a must read for all who seek to know the true character and nature of God and to live a fulfilled life.
