Action Spiritual Journeys
3 stars By Sean, Jun 06 2014
I read this book over two days: it was pretty addictive and easy to read, though I thought it would take longer than it did. 'Deployed' had some real good action sequences, and the author does a great job of painting mental images. You can really see, feel and taste the atmospheres. I feel the only drawback with this novel is that it's over very quickly: the complications and problems and such are resolved really fast. It's almost too easy, I guess I could say. That aside, it's a good read. It doesn't get bogged down in too much romantic stuff (I'm a guy after all!), and though there's no 'conversion moment' of any of the characters, there is still an encouraging depiction of people's spiritual journeys. I'm going to grab the second book, 'Called To Serve', because it follows one of the minor characters from this book, and he seems like an interesting guy.

Tl;dr: Good action book that will keep you amused and provide some good thrills. Give it a go if you're into military fiction.
