Meet the Authors

J Gordon Mcconville (Ed)

J. Gordon McConville, (Ph.D., Queen's University, Belfast) is Professor of Old Testament at the University of Gloucestershire in Cheltenham, England. He is the author of several books and studies on Old Testament topics, including Law and Theology in Deuteronomy (JSOT Press), Time and Place in Deuteronomy (with J. G. Millar; JSOT Press), Deuteronomy (Apollos Old Testament Commentary), 1 and 2 Chronicles (Daily Study Bible), Ezra, Nehemiah, Esther (Daily Study Bible), and Judgment and Promise: An Introduction to the Book of Jeremiah (Apollos). He is currently working on Old Testament political theology, and is co-editor of the Two Horizons Commentary (Old Testament) with Craig Bartholomew, has authored the volume on Joshua with Stephen Williams.

Mark Boda (Ed)

Mark Boda is Professor of Old Testament at McMaster Divinity College, Hamilton, Ontario. He earned his Ph.D. (Cambridge University) on the Praying Tradition in Nehemiah. Mark joined the College in 2003 after teaching for nine years at Canadian Theological Seminary. He has authored four books, edited seven volumes of collected essays, and written over 45 articles on various topics related to the Old Testament and Christian Theology. Key areas of interest include prayer and penitence in the Old Testament and Christian Theology and Babylonian and Persian Period Hebrew Books and History (Ezra, Nehemiah, Haggai, Zechariah, Malachi, Lamentations, Jeremiah).Mark enjoys mentoring students and teaches with enthusiasm about the Old Testament and its continued relevance to the Christian life today. This is evidence in all of his commentaries Zechariah-Haggai(NIVAC, Zondervan), Chronicles (NLT, Tyndale), Judges (EBC, Zondervan), and Zechariah (NICOT, Eerdmans), Ezra-Nehemiah (TOTC, IVPress), Penitence in Biblical Theology (NSBT, IVPress), LXX Psalms (LXXC, Brill).
