Full of Hope
5 stars By Susan, Aug 15 2013
Despite heartache and lost love and lost loved ones, there is still hope when we love and trust our lives to God as our Saviour and Lord. That is the fundamental message with which I am left after reading this book. It was entertaining and passionate, and provided an insight into the way of life in 1835nand at the beginning of the American rail road.
I look forward to the next book in this saga. The characters become your friends and I related to Carolina so much.
A beautiful story which draws you in and leaves you wanting to know more.

Enthralling Read
5 stars By Penny, Jun 17 2013
I found this book wonderful to read. It kept me reading right to the end, I could not put it down.

The historical content is great along with the story line. So well written, giving so much information regarding an era we don't often give so much thought to.

The characters become real and the relationships and interactions between them kept me engrossed.

This is a wonderfully book and I look forward to reading more in the series.

Travel into the past with this book
5 stars By K.S., May 30 2013
I don't think I'll ever catch a train again without thinking about this book... it brings to life the struggles and conflict that occured with the invention of the railway throughout America.
Beautifully crafted story that gives multiple insights to a time not so long ago, but very different. A woman's battle to want to question how things in life work, and to be formally educated, in a time when it was through to cause insanity to a sex of 'delicate nature'.
Well worth a read, and don't expect to stop at book 1!!
