Faithful God: An Exposition of the Book of Ruth

Faithful God: An Exposition of the Book of Ruth

Sinclair B Ferguson

$21.99

Paperback

The book arose out of a series of addresses given at the English Conference of the Evangelical Movement of Wales in Aberystwyth in August, 1996. It is a welcome exposition of the book of Ruth. The author is well known and a trustworthy companion, wise in guidance and sure footed in opening up the scriptures. Five chapters take us through this little Old Testament book, with an appendix, a letter from John Newton on the matter of God’s guidance. The book of Ruth is concerned to unfold a small part of the unfolding of God’s purpose, direction and preparation in history, for the coming of the Saviour. As the writer unfolds these grand issues he is full of insight and practical application. Ruth is full of the activity of God and the writer is keen to show that even the most seemingly insignificant events in the rich diversity of life, as exhibited in this story, are known and under the hand of a faithful God. We know and are loved by the same faithful Father. The reader will derive great profit from this book and it is heartily recommended.
