Falling in Love with a great book
4 stars By Jessica R Wakefield, Jun 05 2014
I have not read a Love Inspired published book before and what better way to start than with an Aussie book in this collection! Straight off this is a simple, sweet, well paced story. Because of the shorter length of this book (as with all Heartsong Presents books), the author doesn't waste her time. The story unfolds quickly and moves along at a nice pace. Although the time Kate spends on the Apple Orchard is slowed down well, so that the reader gets to know that Kate herself is slowing down in life and quite possibly enjoying the quieter life on the farm...and maybe cute Jack could be a part of her future?

First Kate has to fix the problems she caused by running away from her wedding - her relationship with her mother and some financial issues (not to mention shorting out what happened with her fiancee), in short she is learning to grow up and handle her life. Jack is weary of girls who can't seem to sort out just what they want from life. He knows what he wants - a quiet life on the farm. He likes Kate, but he isn't sure she wants the same thing he does. Kate likes Jack, but she's not sure she has her life together enough to end up with him. Will they sort it out? It's worth reading to find out.

Kate and Jack flow naturally together and you can't help but like both of them and wish them the best for the future. A great effort Narelle and so lovely to have the book set in a part of Australia I am not familiar with!

First Book of Six Book contract
4 stars By Mary Hawkins, May 11 2014
A six book contract for an unpublished author tells us what the Harlequin editor thinks of Narelle Atkin's story and writing ability! An enjoyable read and so glad Koorong is stocking these Love Inspired Heartsong Presents books. Narelle's second Christian romance, The Nurse's Perfect Match, has already been released overseas and hopefully will be on our bookshelves here too very soon. Great to have these books by an Australian writer and set in Australia.

Light reading
3 stars By Amanda Deed, May 08 2014
It is great to see an Australian author hit the shelves through the Heartsong Presents range of romances, and I congratulate Narelle for that.

Falling for the Farmer is a light and easy read with a simple and satisfying plot. I enjoyed Narelle's writing style and the way she wove Christian concepts through the storyline without sounding preachy.

If you enjoy a shorter read with a straightforward romance plot, then you will enjoy Falling for the Farmer.

Thanks to the author and publisher for a free review copy.

A Great Debut Novel.
5 stars By Rose, Mar 07 2014
I sat down to read this book after a busy and stressful week. It was the perfect story to lift my spirits. This is a well written, easy read, with characters you can relate to, and a story-line to suit most contemporary fiction readers. The romance elements develop nicely over the course of the novel, and the story had just enough drama to keep me turning the pages. I haven't read a Harlequin novel in a very long time, and I was so taken by the standard of this one, that I can't wait for Narelle's next release.

Great debut novel
4 stars By Andrea, Jan 21 2014
Being an avid reader of romance, I had been anxious to get my hands on a copy of Narelle's debut novel, Falling For the Farmer. And I wasn't disappointed.

The first page had me intrigued - how was poor Kate going to deal with the fallout from being a runaway bride? And as soon as the lovely Jack was there to catch her, I had to find out more about him too.

Kate is trying to find out who she is after her world is turned upside down by her momentous decision. There's a lot of conflict for her to deal with, in the form of relationships and circumstance, and being a resolute young woman, she meets her challenges head on, determined to stand on her own two feet.

Jack appears to have his life in order. His orchard keeps him busy, he's recovered from the breakup of a long term relationship ... and then he falls for Kate. But is that wise? For starters, his heart is at risk. Kate's already left her fianc at the altar - can she be trusted? Also, she's a city girl, and they don't do so well at adapting to country life.

I'm not going to tell you any more than that but I will tell you I thoroughly enjoyed being taken along on Kate and Jack's journey as they negotiated the ups and downs of their relationship.

'Love Inspired' books are category romances, shorter than the average stand-alone novel, and therefore perfect for a holiday read. I would recommend Falling For the Farmer for any reader of romance.

I'm looking forward to Narelle's next release, The Nurse's Perfect Match in May 2014 and The Doctor's Return in August 2014.
