I normally find Karen Kingsbury's novels uplifting and inspiring, but '15 Minutes' felt depressing. I'm sure it is accurate in its portrayal of the temptations and compromises that come with fame, but I felt it hard to enjoy this novel.
This book was outstanding. In a society where reality tv shows particularly musical ones are so prominent. This book gives a very honest and realistic view of what goes on behind the scenes and proves that reality tv is not very real at all. It is a compelling book that confronts the issues of Christians compromising to get ahead, value systems and the price that people have to pay for fame through the genre of fiction I couldn't put it down and found yourself willing the characters she created to make different decisions. I have recommended this to so many people particularly young people. Highly recommend to, a challenging well written book that will change a lot of minds
Karen Kingsbury is a great story teller. The book Fifteen minutes focuses on the struggles and challenges a young man has when auditioning for a music tv show. It highlights many of the issues young people are currently dealing with . It was a lovely easy read that speaks the truth in love.
How often do you think you can stand strong and resist temptation, only to find weakness during the event?(Romans 7:14-25) This book, which was almost a 'can't put down book', is an example of the weakness of mankind when faced with the pressures of the world, even though the resolve was to be strong!
