- Publisher In this book veteran pastor Leslie B. Flynn shares the insights of a lifetime of Bible study, with particular emphasis on the uniqueness of the various Gospel narratives. Four writers - Matthew, Mark, Luke and John - related the good news of Christ's incarnation, ministry, death and resurrection. But why do we have four records? Why four Gospels? Why not just one single biography? Or two Gospels? Or three? Why not five records? When it came time to describe in written form the richness of perfections displayed by Jesus during His thrity-three years on earth, the Holy Spirit inspired four portraits which together were sufficient to provide a well-rounded delineation of His might, meekness, mercy, and majesty. Each of the Gospels reveals a distinctly seperate aspect of His character. Included is an exhaustive bibliography of books for collateral reading for those who want to delve more deeply into the exciting truths introduced in this carefully constructed text.
