Jen Turano
When Miss Charlotte Wilson asks God for a husband, she decides He must want her to pursue Mr. Hamilton Beckett, the catch of the season. The only problem? She's never actually met Hamilton. Fortunately, one of her oldest and dearest friends, Mr. Henry St. James--who has returned to New York after a two-year absence--does know Hamilton. Much to Henry's chagrin, Charlotte immediately ropes him into helping her meet Hamilton. However, none of her plans to catch Hamilton's eye go as she expected, and she is even more confused when her old feelings for Henry begin to resurrect themselves. In the midst of the mayhem Charlotte always seems to cause, she wonders if the gentleman of her dreams might be an entirely different man than she thought.

Delightfully Entertaining
4 stars By Charissa, Jan 07 2017
I was recommended Turano's books by a friend who considered Turano "to be funny". After reading this delightful novella I can understand my friend's assessment. This book was delightfully entertaining and had a very good message about waiting on God to give us the desires of our hearts. This is the first of Turano's work that I have read but it will certainly not be the last! A must read for those who want a clean romance with the chance to laugh.

Short but Sweet!
4 stars By Margot, May 10 2013
What a delightful little read. Miss Charlotte Wilson decides she's going to marry Mr. Hamilton Beckett, although they have never met! Henry St. James loves Charlotte, enough to help her with her plan to marry another. All this in the high society setting of 1880 New York, where propriety and social correctness are so important. It's hilarious, it's touching and it all ends well. I look forward to reading more from Jen Turano.
