Hailing from a small town off the coast of Northern Ireland, Rend Collective (Gareth Gilkeson, Chris Llewellyn, Ali Gilkeson, Patrick Thompson and Stephen Mitchell) wants to be known as a celebration band, worshiping for God's Glory and fame. Since the release of their first album, Organic Family Hymnal, the group's authentic and energetic style of worship has attracted an international audience.

Good News is the album where Rend Collective have tried to be as Rend Collective-y as possible.

"In the past we've been insecure and sometimes let that insecurity stop us from fully being ourselves and worse - from fully expressing the unique(weird?) identity God has given us.

But Good News is our unfettered, uncaged, unapologetic announcement of old fashioned, transforming, earth shattering gospel. We celebrate loud, we lament openly and we sing simple truth like we mean it.

This record was hard-fought - we held nothing back and laid our vulnerable selves out on the altar of each and every track.

Thanks so much for inspiring us and cheering us on - we love you! (And we hope you agree with us that this our best yet!) " - Rend Collective

Honest worship to our Saviour
5 stars By Thomas, Jan 25 2018
Once again, Rend Collective have blown me away again with how well they can craft soaring worshipful tunes. From the moment 'Life is Beautiful' kicks off, you cannot help but be drawn into adoration toward God. The toe-tapping beat of songs like 'I will be undignified' causes your spirit to lift to a new level, and the great reflection shown in 'Weep with me' is simply beautiful. Rend Collective have carefully created a wonderful album yet again that so simply draws the listener to worship.

Review
4 stars By Timothy Yap, Jan 24 2018
Rend Collective's "Good News" is set on turbo-charge. The songs exude such a titanic force both in their spiritual and vocal intensities that they can topple any scaffold of doubt and fear. Covering some of the glorious themes of Scripture, such as the Cross ("Nailed to the Cross"), the resurrection ("Resurrection Day"), salvation ("Good News"), and perseverance ("Marching On"), this album hits all the high points of the Christian faith with great perspicuity. Listen to these songs long enough and they will give you vocabularies to express our faith in refreshing ways. Coupled with such a lofty endeavour is Rend Collective's lead vocalist Chris Llewellyn's vocal execution. With a passion that is so immediate and engaging, it is as if Llewellyn ants to jump right out of the speakers whenever he sings.

As with their previous efforts, Rend Collective is the Mumford and Sons of the worship genre. This means they have a creative way of fashioning their own version of nu-folk with elements of Irish folk, Americana, rock and pop.
