I have used this DVD study with a number of different groups, from teenagers to adult small groupslife groups. Tim Keller covers some fantastic topics on how the gospel affects a broad range of areas in life, such as the city we live in, work, and our christian community, as well as some key topics of Christian living in regards to how the gospel changes our hearts (such as idolatry) and our world outlook (such as eternity and justice). I personally appreciated that some of the passages he used were not ones I had studied in a small group context before, yet still got to the heart of our faith with real life application. I found it useful having both the DVD and the participant guide together. There is a pre-reading before the session and a set of questions relating to the passage and video for each session. I found that the series of studies worked really well, even if not having done the pre-reading, or if only the person running the study had done so. Having a DVD to watch was a great way to have some authority spoken on the necessary exegesis of the text and wisdom given to some important topics. It is also a great lead-in to group discussion. Highly recommend this material for a group wanting to grow in applying the gospel to everyday life.
