I loved this book!! I love the story and the issues it addresses. I particularly love the way it encourages readers to practise good hermeneutics. I would love to read more books like it and absolutely can't wait to read book 2 when it is available.

If you like reading Francine Rivers books I believe you will thoroughly enough this one.

Enjoyable and an uplifting story on the things that matter in life
4 stars By Vivian, May 05 2018
I am a slow reader but over the weeks I savoured each chapter of this book. The story kept me going. My only complaint is that the ending seemed a little abrupt. I hear that there will be a sequel and I look forward to hearing more of this story.

This book dealt with many of the pastoral issues that one deals with in life. I particularly enjoyed the simple (not simplistic) reflections on these issues and the importance of prayer. The book also encouraged me to take up the courage to open my mouth to share about how God has worked in my life or about the Bible.

This book would be suitable for almost any age from teenage up as it deals with real life in an easy to read story that grips your attention.

Thought provoking story
5 stars By Joy, Apr 15 2018
Well written and researched, this is a book with a strong Christian foundation and focus. It tackles some tough issues in a very readable way. The main character is likable and believable. Really enjoyed reading this book and would highly recommend it. Would be suitable for teens that are strong readers too.

Essential Reading
5 stars By Bruce M, Mar 22 2018
I read Christine's book in 24 hours - a rare experience for me! Most people don't know how to cope with or talk to people with Cancer and this book gives us rare insights into one woman's world - her feelings of despair, frustration and ultimately hope, trust and love as she discovers the real Jesus.

A story about what's important to you - Life, Family, Faith...
5 stars By Phil, Feb 12 2018
This novel centres around a young lady (Esther) who has everything in life (family, church, fianc...) going well for her until she's confronted with a serious illness. It's a make-or-break situation that unravels her future, family, and even her faith... And it's around her faith that this book takes us on a journey. A journey that involves a whole cast of characters -each with their own story (and who like to tell stories!).

I found this to be a well-written story that cleverly weaves in many other stories. Stories about: serious illness and deep friendships; personal faith and false religion; superficial and the profound. I enjoyed the characters and could relate to them and (some of) their experiences. It was a bit of an emotional rollercoaster at times because some of the stories were especially hard-hitting with their realistic pain. The Aussie setting was both delightfully distinct, and yet also unobtrusive as it didn't impact the understanding of the story. There were also lots of vivid imagery with words and phrases that succinctly captured the emotion, mood or setting.

I've enjoyed reading this book and look forward to the continuation of Esther's story. For in some ways, I feel that it could well be me walking that difficult path of faith in tough times.
