About "Grandmother Elsie (#08 in Original Elsie Dinsmore Collection Series)"
It was a delightful morning early in October: the dew-drops on the still green grass of the neatly kept lawn sparkled in the rays of the newly risen sun; the bright waters of the lakelet also as ruffled by the breeze they broke gently about the prow of the pretty row-boat moored to the little wharf; the gardens were gay with bright-hued flowers the trees gorgeous in their autumnal dress.

When Elsie's young daughter gets news that her betrothed is dying in Italy, she and her brother Edward travel as fast as they can to so she can nurse him back to health. After making sure the young couple are comfortable, Edward tours Europe before he has to return home. I like this book because it is amazing and touching. I would recommend this book for girls aged 8-14.
"Grandmother Elsie" is the eighth book in the Elsie Dinsmore collection. Young Elsie's beloved Lester has typhoid fever overseas. Elsie and Edward go to Italy to care for him. Young Elsie has to trust God for her lover's life. This book made me laugh and cry. Great for girls aged 8-14.
