About "Healing the Masculine Soul"

Through this refreshing journey into the masculine soul, Dalbey dares men to break free from deceptive stereotypes and discover the power and blessing of authentic manhood in every aspect of their lives - from work to marriage and fatherhood.
- Koorong

In his groundbreaking book fifteen years ago, Gordon Dalbey identified the fact that men's souls have been torn between strength and sensitivity. Today, the situation is even worse. The politically correct crowd cries out for men to be more sensitive, to tame their masculine nature. On the opposing side, the media bombards men with "macho" images of violence and lust. Is it any wonder men are left bewildered about who they should be? ^In this newly revised and updated edition of "Healing the Masculine Soul," Dalbey claims that there's hope for restoration, hope for healing-because Christ has come to heal us. God is calling men out to a relationship with Himself and calling them out to authentic manhood. "Our task is not to curse our manhood, but to redeem it," he writes. ^Gordon Dalbey's refreshing, comprehensive picture of God's design for the masculine soul dares men to be as God created them to be-not as society demands. Friend, Are You Aching Inside?
4 stars By Rob, Jul 19 2009
If you like me, are a follower of Jesus trying to deal with unrepented sin and hurting because of it, then this book will guide you biblically through quite an intricate process to help you come to grips with it all. From the initial first few chapters I was hooked into wanting to highlight details that I could later pray and reflect upon and as I progressed the text became more and more intricately woven with a complexity, that at times was rather daunting and disconcerting. Through dogged perseverance some wonderful gems were discovered that I believe will assist males in this very lost 21st century. Dalbey touches quite a few raw nerves in the 'masculine soul' and opens wounds you never realised you had. Be prepared to be changed in a positive way and persevere. Take your time in reading this book and meditate & pray on what Gordon is trying to convey. A very helpful book in developing the male soul for our walk with Jesus into the 21st Century.
