Paperback

An Exegetico-Theological Study of 1 Corinthians 15.44b-49 and Romans 8.9-13. In the past, theologians have neglected serious study of the Holy Spirit's role in the resurrection of the dead. This book strives to fill this regrettable lacuna with its clear and scholarly presentation of Paul's theology as articulated in 1Cor 15:44b-49 and Rom 8:9-13. It defends the thesis that, according to the Apostle, the Holy Spirit is indeed God's agent in the resurrection.

Exegetes studying Paul's doctrine of the resurrection, as well as his christology, pneumatology or eschatology will find in this work some helpful data for their research. The novelty of this book's exegesis can be found in its new understanding of Paul's overall argumentation in 1Cor 15 and in its innovative interpretation of the range of possibilities with regard to the past, present and future in Rom 8:10, a traditional crux interpretum. Theologians will discover these biblical insights into the person and action of the Holy Spirit especially helpful for their study. Others interested in learning more about "the last things", especially the creation of the spiritual body and its nature, will also appreciate these theological reflections.

In short, this work highlights the Apostle's profound and authoritative teaching on the resurrection of the dead: God raised Christ Jesus, and likewise will raise all who believe in him, through the agency of the Holy Spirit.
